Draft for attorney review

Terms of Service

DRAFT — for attorney review. Not legal advice. Do not publish as binding terms until counsel for the operator of SpamEnder has revised them.

Last updated: October 25, 2026.

These terms are a working draft for the SpamEnder service at https://mailpal.co, the subscriber portal at https://app.mailpal.co, and the connector at https://mcp.mailpal.co. "SpamEnder", "we", and "the operator" mean the legal entity that counsel names here. That entity is not filled in yet.

The service

SpamEnder gives a subscriber a screening telephone number. The subscriber's carrier forwards unanswered calls to that number. An assistant screens the caller against the subscriber's rules, may call the subscriber back from the screening number, and emails a report after the call.

The marketing site is https://mailpal.co. Sign-in and the portal are https://app.mailpal.co. A Grok Bot connects at https://mcp.mailpal.co. Reports are sent from reports@mailpal.co. Support is support@mailpal.co.

Not an emergency service

SpamEnder is not a replacement for 911 or any other emergency number. Do not use it for emergencies. Do not configure forwarding in a way that could send an emergency call to SpamEnder. We do not guarantee that any person will answer, that a callback will connect, or that a message will be delivered in time for you to act on it.

Eligibility

You must be able to form a contract and you must control the mobile number you verify. You may connect only a number you prove you own through the verification text we send. One screening line is set up per account.

Forwarding and your carrier

You turn on no-answer forwarding with your carrier (for example *71 plus the screening number on Verizon and Xfinity Mobile, or the GSM no-reply code your carrier documents). Saved contacts can still ring you when Silence Unknown Callers is on. While forwarding is on, your carrier's own voicemail may not answer. Prepaid and some MVNO plans may not support conditional forwarding. Carrier behavior is outside our control. place_test_call is a check, not a promise that every later call will arrive with the original caller ID.

Calls, recording, and transcription

The assistant tells callers that the call may be recorded and transcribed for the person they are trying to reach. Some places, including Florida, require all-party consent to record. You are responsible for using the service only where that disclosure is enough, and for any extra consent your jurisdiction requires. Counsel should confirm the disclosure and the states where the service is offered.

A call the assistant approves rings your verified cell from the screening number. You press 1 to connect. A number you have allowed, and a verification-code call when that setting connects immediately, is bridged without that press-1 step. We do not promise the call will be answered, that your carrier will present the caller ID you expect, or that the screening number will avoid a "Spam Likely" label. Save the screening number as a contact named SpamEnder.

If you do not subscribe, if payment fails past the grace period, or if the application is down, we do not forward the caller to your cell. Forwarding back to your cell would loop through your own no-answer rule. Callers may hear a short message and leave a voicemail instead.

Your rules and allow list

You, or a Grok Bot signed in as you, can set rules, allow numbers, block numbers, and do-not-disturb. An allowed number can skip screening and ring your verified cell. You are responsible for the numbers you allow and for how long you allow them. Verification-code calls are not a place to collect or store the code. The assistant is instructed not to repeat code digits. Do not use SpamEnder to receive payment card numbers or government identifiers.

Reports

After a screened call we email a report to the address on your account, or to a report address you set, from reports@mailpal.co through Twilio SendGrid. The return path is mail.mailpal.co. If SendGrid reports a bounce or a spam complaint, we mark that address invalid and fall back when another valid address is on the account. We do not guarantee inbox placement.

Free trial, plan, and usage

New accounts get a free trial of 7 days. No card is needed to start. Your screening number is set up during the trial.

After the trial, the plan is $10 per month, billed through Stripe Checkout and the Stripe customer portal. We do not collect or store your card number. If you do not start the plan when the trial ends, calls switch to take-a-message mode for 7 days: callers can leave their name and reason, and they are not connected to you. After that, screening pauses and we may release your screening number (by default 3 days later). You may not get the same number back. Remember to turn off call forwarding on your phone if you stop using the service.

Each month's plan includes a fair amount of calling. The portal shows how much you have used as a percentage. When you reach the included amount, calls switch to take-a-message mode for the rest of the month unless you add another $10 block. Take-a-message mode never rings or calls your phone back.

Auto-add (optional). You can choose to have one more $10 block added automatically when you reach your monthly limit. We charge your saved payment method only if you turn this on and agree to it in the portal, at most once per calendar month, and we record when you agreed. You can turn it off at any time in the portal.

If a payment fails, screening can continue during a short grace period (the default in the service is 7 days) and then pause. Pausing does not dial your cell. Taxes, refunds, and proration follow the Stripe subscription and whatever counsel adds here.

Invite rewards

You can share a personal invite link. A friend counts toward your reward only after they sign up with your link, verify their own mobile number, and make their first $10 payment. Each verified phone number counts once, and you cannot refer yourself. Every 5 friends who count earns you one free month, up to 6 free months per year. Free months are credited to your plan and have no cash value. SpamEnder never sends invites on your behalf; you choose whom to share your link with. We may end or change the reward program for future referrals, and we may withhold rewards for abuse.

Acceptable use

Do not use SpamEnder to harass, to impersonate, to break telemarketing or recording laws, to screen calls for a number you do not control, or to route emergency traffic. Do not send unlawful content through rules, labels, or messages. We may suspend an account that creates cost or abuse risk, including floods of calls to one number.

Accounts and the connector

Your mobile number is your account. You sign in with a one-time code sent to that number, or with a one-time code emailed to an address you have confirmed. The connector uses OAuth 2.1. Tokens and tools can see and change only that signed-in account's line. You are responsible for the Grok Bot or other client you authorize.

Disclaimers

The assistant can misjudge a caller. SpamEnder is provided as available. Counsel should add the warranty disclaimer they want, including disclaimer of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, to the extent the law allows.

Limitation of liability

Counsel should set the cap and the excluded damages. This draft does not state a dollar cap. Nothing in a later cap should limit liability that cannot legally be limited.

Indemnity

Counsel should add any indemnity for the subscriber's rules, forwarding setup, recording consent, and misuse.

Governing law

Counsel should name the governing law and venue. This draft leaves both blank.

Changes

We may change the service and, after counsel approves a process, these terms. The portal will show the current draft or the published terms.
